Michael Streeter (Alex/Brigham Young) is thrilled to be part of The Mormon Playwrites Project. He was recently seen at Post 5 Theater in The Visit and this past Fall as Caesar in Post 5’s production of Julius Caesar. This past summer he played The Merchant in The Merchant of Venice with Portland Actors Ensemble. He has been in local productions with Northwest Classical Theater, OPS Fest, Metro Arts, and more. In and around Los Angeles Michael has appeared at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, The Oddyssey Theatre, The Will Gear Theatricum Botanicum, the Kern Shakespeare Festival, and many more. TV and film roles include Art on General Hospital, Lieutenant Rogers in The Court-martial of Jackie Robinson, and an Alien Paramedic in Doin’ Time on Planet Earth. Michael has a lovely wife and two wonderful children.
Lissie Huff (Eliza Graham) is a 2012 graduate of Portland Actors Conservatory. Prior credits include Seussical (Gertrude McFuzz), You Can’t Take It With You (Alice Sycamore), Twelfth Night (Feste), Holy Ghosts (Bonnie) , A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck), and Twain by the Tale (Puppeteer). In Portland Lissie’s performed with Portland Shakespeare Project (As You Like It), Coho Productions (The Candlestick Maker), Readers Theatre Repertory (The King of Spain’s Daughter) and will appear in Artists Repertory Theatre’s Playboy of the Western World, opening May 2014. Among Lissie’s other past-times are snuggling with her perfect cats, exploring Washington Park, and learning the ukulele.
Some of Pat Janowski‘s favorite projects have involved working with Cory Huff: Julius Caesar and For the Time Being at Post5Theatre, and the Claire Willett Fertile Ground production of Upon Waking. She is thrilled to have the chance to explore the unfamiliar territory that is the Mormon church and its sometimes-mysterious inner workings; her Catholic upbringing never prepared her for this. Big thanks to Joe, Nora, and Mark for holding down the fort at home with humor and grace.
Patrick J. Cox (Thomas Sharp) is an actor/producer from Los Angeles and a veteran of over 20 productions in Shakespeare’s canon. Actor credits: Cassius in Julius Caesar, Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew, Diomedes in Cressida, Banquo in Macbeth, Antonio in Much Ado about Nothing, and Albany in King Lear. Patrick is the Operations Director for Portland Actors Ensemble.
Christopher Beatty (Markus) is a Chicago-bred actor/musician. A recent graduate of Portland State University, he works primarily as a sound designer, music director, and musician-for-hire for local productions, and is currently expanding his horizons into acting. Chris is extremely excited to work on Facing East. Recent productions include The Waterman, Post5’s Julius Caesar, and Sound and Fury’s A Christmas Carol.
Brian Myers (Richard Young) Brian’s previous Portland acting credits include Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at HART and a staging of Auden’s For the Time Being at Milepost 5. He was also the poetry reader when the Wildwood Consort recently paired poetry by Rilke with music by Rameau. Brian and his wife, Ellen Walkley, are the dramaturgs for the current season’s plays at Third Rail Repertory Theatre.
